Muriel Allan Shepherd, née Young

1916–2016
Current status: More evidence needed

Muriel Shepherd was interviewed at her Timaru home in September 2012. The National Library catalogue describes her recollections of growing up in urban Timaru, attending Timaru South School and Timaru Girls’ High School, working, marrying, living through the Second World War, becoming widowed, and participating in church and golf. The catalogue summary establishes a long local life but does not yet show what Muriel personally changed, created, improved or preserved. Longevity and membership of local organisations are not, by themselves, evidence of impact.
